Bumble Books works with a dedicated team of outsourced publishing professionals to produce books of world-class quality – and as a result they have won many awards. In celebration of our birthday, we had a bit of a catch-up with Robin, talked about our partnership, and had a small competition!

Exclusive Books is a famous bookstore known throughout South Africa. They opened their first store on King George Street in Johannesburg in 1951 and have since expanded to over 40 stores with one in Botswana, one in Namibia, and one that can only be found in the sky - www.exclusivebooks.co.za. Their stores boast great children’s sections and to talk to us about Exclusive Books and their involvement with accessibility for children we had Branden Grant – Deputy Manager for Exclusive Books at Canal Walk.

Yanga & Lilah interviews Prof Rudzani Moloiwa 28 May 2022

For the first time in studio, we had Professor Rudzani Moloiwa. We interviewed Prof Rudzani back in 2020 over Zoom, but now we have him in person for our special LIVE birthday broadcast. Prof Rudzani has an interest in infectious diseases with a special emphasis on vaccine preventable diseases. Since 2017 Rudzani has served as a member of the South African National Immunization Technical Advisory Group. He is also a member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on coronavirus vaccines.

Since 2019, we have had a partnership with Bush where a show called The Best of RX Radio plays on the station every Saturday from ten to eleven. Adrian, who is the Programme Integrator for Bush, has been involved with the station on various levels since 1994 and also served as the media liaison to the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa. He spoke about our partnership with Bush and about Bush Radio itself.

Dr Diane Gray is a paediatric pulmonologist and clinical researcher in the Department of Paediatrics, Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, University of Cape Town. Her research focuses on better understanding the determinants of chronic lung disease in African children and the development of appropriate preventive and management strategies. That being just the tip of the iceberg amongst the many things Diane is, she is also an RX Radio supporter and has been there when we call upon her for guidance and support.
