RX Radio is a radio station– run by and for children - at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. The initiative aims to create a platform for communication between hospitalised children, their families, and the health services by providing patients with the skills and support to produce and broadcast radio programmes across the hospital. In addition, we are a project initiated under the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital Facility Board.

Although March is over, we would still like to talk about Intellectual Disability Awareness – which takes place throughout the month of March. People with intellectual disabilities want the same things as everybody else. They want a sense of belonging and purpose, and a chance to make friends and enjoy life. Unfortunately, many people are held back because of the stigma and bullying they endure as a result of people’s ignorance about the rights of persons with intellectual disability and discrimination. This is why it is so important to raise awareness and break the stigma that surrounds Intellectual Disability. [Intellectual Disability Awareness Month]
